Sometimes it is okay to poke fun at the client experience. It is hard to deal with these things but it isn’t impossible. The trick is to bring it to terms people can understand. As a client you have to understand that you DON’T understand everything. Do you tell a mechanic HOW to fix your car? Or do you tell them what needs fixing?

With a profession as NEW and ALWAYS changing as the “Web Developer” it takes a lot to explain what you do to people.
