Twitter Bootstrap 3 WordPress Starter Theme for Developers

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope you are all going to have a nice Holiday Season with friends and family no matter what or where you are celebrating.

This theme update accomplished two tasks:

  1. I have updated all the Twitter Bootstrap core files to version 3.3.1
  2. I added some default search logic to the index.php. (Reminder: You can always create your OWN search.php template file to display your search results but I wanted something there out of the box).

The child theme is also updated with the new LESS files from the 3.3.1 Bootstrap update.

Note for Translations: With the included search results logic there is a NEW string of text to translate “Search Results.” I’ve updated the en_US.po and files to reflect this.

A big thank you to all of you for taking the time to give me feed back and participating in the forums with your tips and tricks.

  • Thank you very much for your work and effort.
I will update soon and give feedback.

I am extremely excited to play around with this theme. I am a late bloomer in the world of Bootstrap; it took version 3 to have me completely sold. And, when I wanted to start using it for WordPress projects, I was shocked to see the lack of bare bone frameworks out there.

Everything I have tried, and I have tried a few now, was far too heavy and actually made it difficult to develop a custom theme. I have all but given up and did a final search before I resorted to creating my own framework. But, it seems you have saved me the trouble and I applaud you for it; thank you for the putting the time and effort into this project.

Hey John thanks for reaching out. 🙂 There certainly is a place for “keeping it simple” themes like this where you just want access to the Bootstrap framework while still being able to navigate the WordPress theme structure. It isn’t perfect (What is?) but it has helped a lot of people and that is good enough for me.

I am currently waiting for a Theme update to be approved that will bring us up to the latest version of Bootstrap (3.3.2). The github version is up to date though if you are using that one.

      Good luck out there!
